Regarding the controversial book, The Hindus, An Alternative History by Wendy Doniger

The Exoteric and the Esoteric are different. Those who study the Exoteric miss the Wisdom of the Esoteric. Just giving a superficial opinion that religious traditions are mere amalgamations of many practices exposes the author's ignorance of Esoteric Wisdom ! She has not understood what Henry David Thoreau said " The English sense has toiled, but Hindu Wisdom never perspires " or what Annie Besant said " After a study of 40 years, of all the great religions of the world, I find none so scientific, none so philosophic, none so systematic as the great Religion we know by the name of Hinduism" !

Physicalists and literalists cannot understand the Eternal Law, the Santan Dharma ! Neither the Esoteric nor the Exoteric !

My dear Edsa, have you not understood what I am trying to say? You say it is all fog?

Do you know that the Exoteric is merely the symoblism of the Esoteric ? Have you or your so called Western scholars studied Esoteric Hinduism or Yoga ?

Have you studied Hindu scholars,Vivekananda, Tagore and Aurobindo ? Did the West think for them ? You think Max Muller, Jones , Dalrymple and Doniger are the only scholars in the world ? In your feeling of superiority, you are denigrating one billion people ! One billion do not have brains ?

It is obvious that " Western scholars" are mere believers !

Here is an answer to your questions. Symbolism behind Vedic symbols and deities explained at
Vedic Symbolism

We can also indulge in West bashing, but we dont intend to do so, as our culture is more sophisticated !

What is he trying to say? It's a lot of fog. The tragedy is that Hindus have always been deficient in intellectual tools and cannot answer westerners point by point. No wonder the West (Max Muller, Jones, Dalrymple and now Doniger) have had to do the thinking for them.
So in their frustration, the Hindus can only rail and rant, shout slogans, apply dots and dashes on their foreheads. But they are unable to engage in rational discourse.
